Challenges
In sustainability reporting, one of the biggest challenges is data compilation due to the diverse sources and categories of information. There is a need to consolidate all data into one system to facilitate tracking, analysis, review, and integration of performance indicators aligned with reporting guidelines and combined with the carbon accounting system. A solution that integrates all these, while adhering to reporting standards, can reduce the reliance on multiple spreadsheets and documentation, making the process more time-efficient and easier for third parties to evaluate.They were seeking a solution provider that could rapidly onboard them and assist in coordinating the data collection.
Our Policies and Goals
SkyCell, align themselves with global sustainability initiatives and have established validated science-based targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 for Scope 1&2 without the use of CO2 certificates.
In addition, they aim to achieve complete net-zero emissions by 2040, encompassing all sources of Scope 3 emissions. Overall, they have the goal to help the industry reduce emissions by more than 1 million tons yearly.
Solution
In their assessment, SkyCell integrated emission calculations from all sources into Pelt8, a platform to collect and report on sustainability data. This platform allowed them to leverage the latest emission factors and boost the efficiency of their data collection, monitoring, and traceability.
Furthermore, the overall reporting of carbon emissions underwent an external analysis conducted by a third party. They reviewed its alignment with the GHG Protocol, as well as its accuracy and credibility, providing a limited level of assurance verification statement.
